Premier League round up: Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers
Birmingham City
Birmingham City winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Larsson-c32733 is content about staying put in the Midlands, despite being at the centre of a tug of war between Birmingham and Aston Villa over a possible move.
Larsson rejected a new contract from Birmingham back in December 2010 and was all set to leave the club in 2011 summer after his contract expired. However, nothing surfaced and Larsson will now remain with the club at least until the end of the 2010-11 season.
The winger’s impact was evident when he came on in the game against West Ham United and it was his pinpoint cross to striker Nikola Zigic which led to the only goal of the game. That win catapulted City out of the relegation zone and Larsson was delighted
to be the supplier of the goal.
Larsson stated that the uncertainty of his future did affect his form but with that cleared now, he wants to do whatever he can to help Birmingham stay in the Premier League.
“I'm going to be honest - at one stage it didn't seem at one point that the club knew what they wanted to do to me. I'm not criticising them, I'm just telling the story how it was. It was quite difficult from one day to an other not knowing what they wanted
to do to me,” stated the winger.

Blackburn Rovers teenager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 is nearing his return to first team football. The player suffered a knee cartilage concern while training back in December 2010 and it was feared that Jones may play no part in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
However, Jones has recovered remarkably well and may be available for the final few fixtures of the season. His surgery was successful and the manager was optimistic of having the 18-year-old back as soon as in March 2011.
Kean said, “Phil is back out on the pitch working with (physio) Dave Fevre so he's making good progress. He's coming on quicker than we thought, so hopefully in three or four weeks he'll be available for selection.”
The manager labelled Jones’s recovery as a major boost to the squad. Kean added that it was very unfortunate for him to be injured despite being so young, but his age has played a major part in his rapid recovery.
