Premier League round up: Fulham and Liverpool
Fulham
Fulham manager Mark Hughes has hailed the impact of club captain Danny Murphy and believes that it would be up to the skipper to lead the team by example.
Hughes is currently aiming for a top 10 finish in the Premier League and with their current form, it does not seem to be an issue. They were too close to the relegation zone at the start of the 2010-11 season but have managed to shake their luck and are
now in 12th place in the rankings.
If there is one player who has been performing consistently, despite the dip in forms, it has to be the captain Danny Murphy. The 33-year-old has shown everyone that there is still a lot left in his old legs as he has been on top of his game week in and
week out.
His performance against Aston Villa led to Hughes and Aston Villa boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Houllier shower praise on him.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 was excellent again. He has been really consistent this year in fairness. Early in the season, we weren't getting many plaudits because we were struggling to pick up points. Right through the season from the start to now, Danny has put consistently
excellent performances together,” stated the Fulham manager.
Liverpool
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 has voiced his opinion regarding the impact of manager Kenny Dalglish.
Senior players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728 had expressed their support and loyalty towards the manager. Liverpool, who were battling relegation at the start of the 2010-11 season, have seen their fortunes turned around since the arrival of Dalglish.
The manager has not lost a single Premier League fixture since his arrival and managed to win at Stamford Bridge for the first time in nearly 7 years.
Liverpool have the reached the sixth spot for the first time in the season after four straight wins and Kuyt has now backed Dalglish to be appointed as a long-term boss.
Kuyt believed that Kenny was no less than a legend for Liverpool fans and players alike and claimed that the entire outfit is extremely delighted to have him as the manager. The Dutchman believed that Dalglish has brought in a lot of positivity and belief
in the side and that has really changed the overall atmosphere at the club.
“It has worked out very well with him and (new first-team coach) Steve Clarke and everything looks much better,” stated the Liverpool forward.
Dalglish appointed an unorthodox 3-5-1-1 formation in the weekend win against Chelsea and that proved out to be a success. The five-man midfield choked the life out of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s powerful style of play and with three centre backs, there was nothing the likes
of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 could do.
