Premier League starts a new chapter of thrilling encounters
Just when everyone thought the excitement in darts was reaching its conclusion. McCoy Premier League of Darts brought another wave of exhilaration filled encounters to keep the level of thrill mounting.
The third week of the game begins from February 23 at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Competitions scheduled for this week will definitely glue darts fans to their television sets.
These include matches between Kevin Painter v Simon Whitlock, Andy Hamilton v Adrian Lewis, Gary Anderson v James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld v Phil Taylor.
The opening of the day begins with Aussie ace Simon Whitlock taking on debutant Kevin Painter.
‘The Artist’ desperately needs to reinstate his credibility by putting his best in this encounter.
He has already lost his two earlier games against Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson. The Aussie darts player, on the other hand, will try to maintain the winning streak he has been going through.
The next encounter coming on the way will definitely be a nail-biting encounter as Ladbrokes finalists will once again face each other on the oche.
‘The Hammer’ who is also among the debutants in this event will be taking on Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis to avenge his defeat in the finale of the event.
At the same time, he will aim to prove that he is worthy enough to gain access at the O2 event.
Lewis, on the flip side, has unfortunately not been able to get a start he was looking forward to. In what seemed to be a rather positive start of his campaign against Phil Taylor, he was ravaged by the ‘Power’ of darts in the subsequent legs.
The third game is being termed by pundits as a ‘must watch’. Anderson will try to revive his form after he lost a game.
He has been winning, but he has still not been able to find the spark he wanted to have being the defending champion of Premier League.
James Wade has recently recovered from his psychological treatment. He still needs to open his victory account and he will have to do his best if he really wants things to end in his favour.
Hence, for both, the match is going to be nothing less than a do or die situation.
The last game of the day will see ‘The Power’ and Barney taking on each other on the oche.
The Dutch darts player, who, not so long ago, was considering quitting from darts, has finally been able to find a bleak hope in the form of the Premier League event and the way he has been able to perform here.
Taylor, as everyone knows, is the most admired personality in darts. Whether he loses or wins he will enjoy that status perpetually.
