Premier League title Manchester United priority: Paul Scholes
Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has claimed that the quality of football does not matter as long as they are headed in the right direction to claim their record 19th English Premier League title.
With just 12 league matches to go, the English midfielder believes that it would be the Premier League trophy that matters and not the quality of football.
“You plan to be top of the league and playing great football every week, but it doesn't always happen. If we're top of the league at the end of the season - when it matters - and we haven't been blowing teams away, we won't care. The only thing that matters
is winning that league,” said Scholes.
If the Red Devils manage to win their record 19th Premier League title, it would take them above http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the overall title race.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are currently leading the table with four points ahead of the second-placed and their only title rivals of the 2010-11 season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
The Old Trafford team endured an unbeaten run of 29-matches in the season; however, their undefeated streak was ended recently by bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite losing, the Red Devils bounced back in an extraordinary manner and defeated their city rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford. However, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are not at their fluent best in the season, especially their away record is far from being
convincing. They have drawn 8 of their 12 away fixtures so far in the season.

On the other hand, the Red Devils are enjoying the best home record in the League, which is also the only reason they are leading the points table. Sir Alex’s men are unbeaten at home and have drawn only once at Old Trafford so far.
Paul Scholes, who has won two Champions League medals with Manchester United, has claimed that the Red Devils are also aiming for the European title.
The Old Trafford outfit topped the UEFA Champions League group stage and were drawn against the French side Marseille.
Scholes added, “This is when the Champions League really starts, with the knockout phase. Marseille's a tough place, but we're looking forward to it. Hopefully, we can go all the way to the final and win it.”
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are favourites to triumph against Marseille, even though the Red Devils do not have a very impressive record against their French opponents.
