Larsson almost a done deal for Newcastle
It has been reported that Premier League newcomers, Newcastle United have tabled an offer for influential Birmingham midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Larsson-c32733. The bid rumoured to be in the region of 1.5 million pounds is thought to have been accepted by Birmingham.
Initially, Newcastle coach Alan Pardew had set his sights on signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Bentley-c10435 from Tottenham, but that bid appears to be going nowhere so Pardew has now shifted his attention towards the Swede.
Larsson still has six months left in his contract at Saint Andrews, and has reportedly turned down a contract extension which included new and improved terms. The former Arsenal midfielder was also believed to be unsettled at Birmingham and keen on a switch.
Another Premier League side, Sunderland are also reported to be chasing the versatile winger, but that move might not materialise, as manager Steve Bruce is not willing to play anything above 1 million pounds.
Robbie Keane’s move to Birmingham stalls
Birmingham City have apparently failed to sign out of favour Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, after the Irish international told club officials that he didn’t want to move to Birmingham.
In a surprising turn of events, struggling Premier League side West Ham have appeared as favourites to sign the much travelled Keane, as the player has also expressed his desire to stay in London. It is rumoured that the Hammers are going to be the favourites
to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215 if they offer Spurs seven million pounds.
Tottenham officials allowed Keane’s representatives to open talks with Birmingham this Thursday, but it later transpired that the 30-year-old was very reluctant to leave London. Although Birmingham manager Alex McLeish says that he is not giving up hope
on Keane, he thinks that it will be very difficult to pursue the player since he doesn’t want to move to midlands.
Birmingham will now have to look elsewhere in the transfer market, and are reported to be hunting Manchester City striker Jo.
West Ham are struggling in the Premier League and will face a tough battle to sign the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 and Aston Villa are also chasing Keane’s signature.
