Premier League’s Richard Scudamore unconcerned about claims of a weakened Manchester United
Premier League chief executive, Richard Scudamore, has revealed that he does not care which players Manchester United will utilize for the final game of their domestic campaign. Scudamore believes that the names in the team-sheet will be irrelevant, as the
Red Devils will be going all out in a bid to win the match.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming match between United and Blackpool, Scudamore said, “I absolutely know that Manchester United will pick a team to go out and win that game. As far as weakened teams are concerned, the Premier League has only ever applied the
rule twice when it's been an extreme case and somebody has changed all 10 outfield players and then the week after, gone back and changed the 10 back again.”
He added, "That's not going to happen so I absolutely expect on Sunday that the teams, whoever is put out, will be out to win."
United host Premier League strugglers, Blackpool, on the final day of the Barclays Premier League. The Red Devils have already wrapped up the League title, which has allowed manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, to focus on the upcoming UEFA Champions League final
against Barcelona.
