Premier league Roundup: Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Blackpool
Blackburn Rovers young defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 has gone under the knife, in an attempt to repair a torn cartilage in his left knee.
The U-21 defender was a second half substitute in Blackburn’s recent 1-1 draw against West Ham United at the Ewood Park, but could play only 10 minutes. The player was injured when he went toe-to-toe with West Ham striker Carlton
Cole and landed awkwardly in a sliding tackle. The medical team took the player to the hospital and confirmed that the injury went well.
"Phil Jones had keyhole surgery to repair the tear to his cartilage. The operation went successfully. The rest of the knee looks fine and he'll now begin his rehab which should be three to four months," stated club doctor
Phil Batty.
In other news, Blackpool loan striker Luke Varney has expressed his love for his current club and does not want to leave them come winter’s transfer window.
When Varney joined Blackpool from Derby County on a loan term this summer, a clause stated that the player could be bought in this transfer window. Yet, the player would prefer to stay at the club and end his loan term before signing
a permanent switch to Blackpool in the summer. The player stated that he has decided to stay put in January, as the club management and squad has made him feel at home. Varney added that Blackpool have given him a mega chance to prove himself in the premier
league and he would love nothing more than to stay here on a permanent basis.
Blackpool will be facing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at Bloomfield road in the premier league, with the Reds looking for some retribution for the only home loss for the season. Liverpool succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Blackpool at Anfield and have the
perfect chance to extract some revenge this weekend, when they travel to Bloomfield road.
