Wanderers owing to a knee concern. Dunne now looks to be fit in time for Wednesday’s Carling Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers at home. Caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald, who was incharge of the outfit for 7 games of the club following the shock resignation
of Martin O Neill claimed that Dunne got a knock while playing against Bolton on Monday. The manager added that for him to fit and avaliable for selection on Wednesday would be too much to ask for.
Birmingham City: Birmingham City Manager Alex McLeish has issued a verbal warning towards other clubs, claiming that if they wants to sign either of their centre backs, the clubs would have to fight hard. Heavy weights Manchester United
and Liverpool have been heavily linked to signing Scott Dann and Roger Johnson, who have received immense praise owing to their solid performances at the back. Although most of the managers would talk down any interests in their star performers, Mcleish encouraged
clubs to put an offer on the table for either of their defenders.
"I think it's great that my players are getting recognition, because that means we're doing well. So bring it on. I'd be quite happy, but it won't be easy for any club to buy players from this club.", claimed the Birmingham City manager.
Blackburn Rovers: Blackburn Rovers rock solid centre back Chris Samba has claimed that owing to newly signed Fulham manager Mark Hughes’ links with Blackburn Rovers, Fulham was able to extract a single point from their Ewood Park trip on
Saturday. Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw at home and the player was frustrated with just a point from a possible three.
"That's twice he's come here and got a draw. He knows this place very well. He knows a lot of the players. That makes him difficult for us to play against. We know he's a good manager and he knows all about us. Fulham look like they are a good passing side,
but at the start of the first half we should have punished them more. I don't know what happened at the start of the second half, we lost it a bit. We showed two faces - one good, one bad.", claimed the 26 year old French full back.
