Premier league news - Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool
Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce aims to covert his team into one of the most feared combinations in the English Premier League - a team that no one would want to face. Blackburn has already shown their ‘never say die’ quality this season, which was evident
from their 1-1 stalemate at Eastlands this weekend. Following their impressive performance at Manchester, their manager’s tactics did come under heavy questioning by the media, but Sam remained steadfast with his decision.
"Are we a side that no-one wants to play now? I hope so. It brings us some adverse publicity at times because we get the old Sam Allardyce long ball, all that rubbish. But we play to our strengths if they're needed. We didn't play long ball on Saturday;
we played through midfield when we could. We played up and in behind when we had to”. The manager added that goal keeper Paul Robinson knocked some good long balls from his box and defender Chris Samba used his aerial ability to good use. All the clubs needed
to utilize their assets to the fullest and that is exactly what the Rovers did to get a favourable result.
Allardyce concluded his statement by stating that he now hopes he can inject some fear into the hearts of opposition teams and that his side are not the whipping boys of the league, but a side which should be respected. Since the arrival of Manchester United
loanee Mame Biram Diouf, Rover’s forward line has improved greatly and has managed 4 points from their opening four games.
Blackpool

that before these two games (against Newcastle and Chelsea) the player had a talk over what to expect from these two fixtures. Varney was honest in stating that a point would have been the most favourable result they could’ve expected but following their win,
they can now relax and enjoy their trip to Stamford Bridge.
