Walcott requested to take over the shirt of his favourite player and vowed to live up to it during his time at Arsenal. However, he has huge shoes to fit, as Henry is the club’s highest goal scorer and is considered one of the finest players of his era.
Henry returned to Arsenal this week to have a training stint with his former club, with the MLS season due to restart by February. The youngster was delighted to have worn this shirt, despite the pressure and would do nothing more to be the star Henry was
for Arsenal.
"It probably did add more pressure. There were always comparisons between me and Thierry with the way we run and finish. To wear the number is a great honour. I didn't really realise at the time it was Thierry's number. As soon as I got home I told to my
family and they said 'you know whose shirt that is don't you?' stated the youngster.
The player added that Henry being a senior player was always helpful to youngster like Walcott. When both of them started playing together, Walcott understood the real talent of the player and used to look in awe of how gifted the Frenchman was.
“I've got a picture with Thierry [from when I first signed for Arsenal] and I look so scared. Being my hero as well, I was star-struck!" stated Theo Walcott.   
Theo Walcott started the current season in emphatic form, when he managed to score 6 goals in quick successions. However, that form was hampered from the injury he suffered while on International duty for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and faced a month long injury lay off. Yet,
the player has become an integral part of Arsenal’s season challenge and has an unparalleled burst of pace, which makes the life of defenders very difficult. Henry’s training stint is going to be helpful to the likes of Walcott, who can learn a lot from his
invaluable experience. Henry is the only premier league player in recent history to have scored 30 + goal in five seasons consecutively.
