Premier league round up: Chelsea, Everton and Fulham
Chelsea
Although the newly signed 50-million-pound striker Fernando Torres failed to live up to the expectations in his debut against former club Liverpool, yet he was delighted with the support he got from the Chelsea supporters.
It was not the best of debuts for Torres, as he saw his former club defeat his new club 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea supporters gave Torres a warm reception at Stamford Bridge and he was thankful to them.
“Obviously everyone wants to win, especially if it is their first game at home, but I will still have very good memories about my reception here and want to thank all of the Chelsea fans for that nice reception. The result was not the best, but we have to
keep going and fighting until the end,” stated the Chelsea number 9.
Everton
Toffees centre back Seamus Coleman was delighted with the form of Louis Saha and believed that should the Frenchman get over his injury issues, Everton stand a better chance in the Premier League.
Saha became the first Everton player in 40 years and second Frenchman ever to score four goals in a single match in Everton’s 5-3 rout over Blackpool. The win was Everton’s sixth of the 2010-11 season and the entire Everton camp was overjoyed with the performance
of the former Manchester United man.
He has the capability to score almost at will but his injuries have kept him out of the campaign in the on-going season.
Coleman stated that if Everton had a player of Saha’s calibre, it would have really improved their chances since he has the ability to score from positions other strikers only dream of scoring. Coleman appreciated his impact and hoped that the win would
set the tone for the Merseyside club for the remainder of the season.
Fulham
Fulham’s star striker Bobby Zamora is about to make a return to the first team after recovering from a long-term leg injury.
Zamora broke his leg while playing against Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been out of action for nearly 4 months.
“Bobby is training with the first-team squad now. I'd imagine that it will be two or three weeks before he's fit enough to be considered. But he is on track and doing well. We'll look to put games into him,” stated the Fulham manager Mark Hughes.
