Premiership side Bath Rugby inks deal with Novia Financials for two-year sponsorship - Rugby
English professional rugby union club, Bath Rugby, has signed Novia Financial Plc as their new main partner. The Recreation ground based club has confirmed the signing of a two-year deal with the Bath based wealth management firm Novia financials today.
Officials at the club have confirmed the signing of the new sponsorship deal in a statement released on the club’s website on Tuesday, June 28. The statement read, “Bath Rugby are delighted to today announce Novia Financial as their new main partner, on
a two year deal.”
Bath competes in the Aviva Premiership and different European competitions including Heineken Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup. Bath finished fifth on the 2010/11 Aviva Premiership table with 62 points that includes 13 wins coming from their 22 games in the season.
Bath unfortunately missed out on making it to the Premiership play-offs by just four points.
Bath Rugby Chief Executive Officer, Nick Blofeld, spoke about the deal and said, “The Club is very excited about this new partnership with Novia, and look forward to developing a strong and successful working relationship with them.” Blofeld further added,
“It is vitally important to us as a Club to develop links with local businesses, as well as the wider community, so we are delighted to welcome Novia Financial on board.”
Speaking on the occasion, Novia Financial’s CEO, Bill Vasilieff said, “We are thrilled to be developing this relationship with Bath Rugby at such a pivotal time in the Club's history.”
Vasilieff has praised the recent success Bath Rugby and its players have enjoyed both on and off the field. He further added that he anticipates a good future both in domestic and European competition. Vasilieff further added, “The tremendous developments
both on and off the pitch at the Club point to a really exciting future, and we cannot wait to be a part of that.”
For their next season’s campaign, Bath Rugby has strengthened their squad with the inclusion of nine players. The most notable of all includes Stephen Donald from New Zealand and Francois Louw from South Africa.
Bath will be without the services of the Springboks star fly half Butch James who has returned to South Africa at the end of the 2010/11 Premiership season.
