Prenatal vitamins????

Is there ANY reason to take prenatal vitamins if you're not pregnant or not trying to get pregnant? Long story short, I found some at a friend's house. She is in her middle 30's and her fiance is in his late 40's. He has older kids and hers are not that young either. They never mentioned anything about trying for a baby and both are very busy as it is. I was just wondering if there was a reason she would have these other than pregnancy?! thanks.

  1. consuming prenatal vitamins is important cos it prepares yr body better2cope throughout the pregnancy especially for older n skinny people..lesser chances of miscarriage etc... Consume more folic acid n high in iron supplements.... during pregnancy more in calcium etc...

  2. If she's a friend why not just ask her? On the other hand, were you snooping to find them? Maybe she just likes the multi-vitamins in them. I always felt healthier when taking them & got sick a lot less.

  3. I took prenatals when I was not pregnant.  Although it may have been in my mine.  I found my hair was fuller and nail were stronger.  I also felt better my energy levels seem higher.  Yet, again this may be all in my mine.....lol

  4. They are very good vitamins, but she may be thinking about becoming pregnant, or just loves the healthy long nails.

  5. Yes, the extra folic acid and iron is good for women of childbearing years. I took them for many years before I ever tried to get pregnant.

  6. Well they recommend that you begin taking them 3 months prior to your attempts at trying to conceive.  Maybe they are going to try soon?
