Question:

Prep feet for factory work?

Anyone know what kinds of things keep feet from blistering and bruising after standing all day doing factory work. I've heard bandaging them, keeping the feet above the heart at night, etc. Any other suggestions.

  1. i always wore sketchers as well......LOVE THEM!!!!!

  2. Try pressure point therapy. Inch your way over your foot with the tip of your thumb or forefinger, pressing in firmly. Work the whole area of the foot-this is also good for the entire body interestingly enough, particularly the inside edge of each foot.

Also, saoking the feet in warm as you can stand water every night with epsonm salts will bring great relief.

  3. The best thing you can do for your feet is to buy GOOD shoes. Don't get the cheap Payless shoes. Go to a shoe store that specializes in WIDTHS. Have them fitted. They are more expensive, but your feet will thank you.

I had several foot operations when I was young. I have ALWAYS bought higher end shoes like New Balance, because I have very wide feet. And don't let anyone tell you they will stretch. Good shoes don't have to stretch. They should fit immediately. And stretching doesn't make the SOLE any wider, only the upper. So if the sole doesn't fit your foot, you can fall off of them, twisting your ankle.

When trying on shoes, walk around the store, on both the carpet and the hard floor. Notice any spot that seems tight, or pinches. Those will cause blisters and could damage your foot.

  4. I worked in a factory... And the best combination I have found so far is my Sketchers shoes with some Dr. Scholl's inserts (the double air pillows!!!)  Don't get the hard gel ones.  They suck.

  5. Good footwear will do the trick.

  6. try 2 pair of socks or gel inserts

  7. Soak them in hot salt water.

But some epson salts from a pharmacy and throw a few cups in a bath while you rest your feet.

Buy some thick foot cream, smother you feet with them at night and put a plastic bag around your feet. wash your feet in the morning and youll have the softest feet ever!

  8. Try the Safetrax service shoes that are at Walmart & Kmart, the thick sole provides relief from the hard floor -- a pair of cotton socks and maybe baby powder to keep your keep dry-- soak your feet -- treat yourself to a foot massage -- the results will be felt all over your body for a full restful sleep as well

  9. get soft insoles, and wear and extra pair of socks...

    ex.

wear your normal socks, then put on wool socks overtop.
