Prepaid cellphones in India?

I want to buy a pre-paid cellphone for a friend in Hyderabad. What is the cost for a phone and the minutes to put on? Where on the net can I buy it and have it sent to her?

You can get a phone for your friend online through sites like, ebay,sifymall, rediff and indiatimes shopping.But to get a  SIM card, your friend in India has to provide his/her address and identity proofs to the operator whose connection,whether prepaid or postpaid, he/she would like to avail of.
