im going to be a senior in the fall and im gonna take AP gov't, AP economics, AP physics and AP literature. i know they are all really hard but if you did take any of these, what were ur averages? and did taking numerous APs bring down ur average senior year? i wish i could take AP chem but i dont have an room in my schedule.

how should i prepare for these classes. i have to retake my SAT Chem test in the fall so i will have to study this summer. my sister whos in college has these stacks of economics textbooks on her desk. should i look at them briefly? are college economic textbooks the same as AP economics?

how do i prepare for AP physics. its the hardest AP science in my school. the smartest kid who graduated this year had an 88 average in that class. yikes! im really good at chemistry, so are the two related? i took regular chem (no AP or honors) my junior year and i aced that class

  1. I took AP physics last year. It's definitely a tougher AP, with under 20% getting 5's. I think the biggest factor to doing well on the test is the competency of the teacher, which cannot be changed. I would suggest you get a AP physics prep book early and start to familiarize yourself with some of the concepts because they are complicated and take a while to sink in.

  2. I'm taking 4 APs this year too: AP Gov't, AP Calc BC, AP Literature, and AP Bio.  Considering that APs are like college classes 4 is quite a load, but manageable I believe.

If you take APs in my school they give you an extra 10 percent weight so my average rises.  But if your school doesn't do that then I would study up a bit.  I have summer homework. So try reading some books for lit. or get the Ap test prep books.  College Board also has stuff.

I took AP chem last year, and loved it.  Chem and physics are not much inter-related, in fact I hate physics with a passion, too much math.  But do what you think best.

    Good Luck with it all!

  3. i suggest you buy some AP review books (like princeton review, the kaplan, etc.) and read up before school starts. they contain a good percentage of the info that will likely show up on the AP exams, you'll have a pretty good foundation for what you'll be learning in you classes.

good luck, AP is a ***** (took ap world last year.. ow)
