Question:

Preparing Home For Kitten With Broken Leg.?

Hello.

My poor little kitten Pedro suffered a nasty fall outside and broke his right hind leg.

The RSPCA found him and patched him up with a lovely shaven bum and a huge leg cast.

For now he is spending him time in the animal hospital recovering and taking an admirable amount of drugs, but hopefully he will soon be home.

I want to prepare the home for him, in order for him to be as comfortable as possible as soon as he arrives.

I've taken the measure of arranging to stay somewhere with him where there are no stairs.

So if anyone has any good advice on caring for kittens with leg casts it would be hugely appreciated. (ie. lowered litter tray? etc.)

Thanks.

  1. i found that the best thing to do is to leave everything the same because otherwise he will just get confussed

    good luck.

  2. Don't use regular cat litter get some yesterdays news litter .good luck

  3. You may have to lift your cat into the litter tray to help it or you could put down an old piece of plastic or lino with newspaper and sprinkle some litter on that but this could prove messy. Also place your cats bed low on the floor if it has one or some old blankets with a cushion underneath will do so that your cat can rest and sleep comfortably, place a small scratching post nearby for it to scratch on and make sure food bowls are easily accessible to your cat. Not much else really your cat may amaze you with how well it will cope, I wish your cat a speedy recovery.

  4. cut out a small u to lower the openig or find old metal cake pan keep away from animals that can chase him and a bed in a warm sunny part of the floor Good luck h**l be great
