Preparing baby's bottles?

I have used nursery water to prepare my sons bottles ever since I stopped breastfeeding. Would it be okay to use regular tap water to prepare them? I was just curious if it would upset his tummy. Someone told me if I put tap water in a jug overnight it would distill, but I am not sure if that is true or not.

it shouldn't - tap water just has more chemicals in it.  If that is your only option, then it should be fine.  I use filtered water for my daughter's bottles but when she is older, I need to consider that filtered water has no flouride for her teeth!

Use what you want.I water straight from the tap & it works great for us.If you trust the water in your area,then use it..I wouldn't listen to the person who said that either.They sounds pretty clueless.

We use water from a Brita Filter with no problems.

Because I'm not overly confident in tap water, I used regular bottled water. To be fair, that water isn't necessarily proven to be any better, however, mentally, it makes me feel safer  :)

that's nonsense tap water won;t magically distill over night in a jug, distilled water is water that is heated and the steam is collected then cooled, leaving any solids behind, obviously that cant happen just by putting it in a jug

if you trust the quality of your tap water it may be ok, personally i cant abide the taste of nonfiltered tap water so i figure there is stuff in it i'd rather not drink... if the cost of bottled water is behind your desire to use tap invest in a water filter, it's cheaper than bottled water AND you wont need to be carrying jugs of water from the store

i use tap water and i boiled them.

I use tap water that's been run through a PUR filter pitcher.  No problems with it in our household so far (twins).
