Preparing for Greenpeace.?

Question

My dream for the future is to study journalism at St Lucia University of Queensland (Australia) and then go on to join Greenpeace. I live in an area where there isnt many places to volunteer etc. How can I start to get active in the activism community and how do I go about joining Greenpeace?
