I am trying to train for a 10 mile race that is on Oct 5th. Due to sickness for 2 weeks I had to reduce my training and take it easy. Now I am running about 4 miles 5 days a week and 6 miles on one day. My pace ranges from 5:45 to 6:30 depending on the day and how I feel. For example, the last 6 mile run I did in 32:00. I could have gone faster, but that was not the goal. The goal was to run further and be comfortable and have good form.

  1. just be mentaly, emotionaly, and physicaly healthy and everything will goes on..

    God Bless and good luck...

  2. dang you faster than me..my 10k is 37:42....id say you have to start running further..try to get a 12 or 15 mile run in..doesnt even have to be a fast pace..just do it so you know 10 miles is easy

  3. well, get back in condition by taking 2 weeks to get back in the training you were in, you have only lost 2 weeks worth of conditioning.  Besides your 5:20 pace is enough to win that race anyway. Just build up your tempo run  gradually and you should be fine.  Every so often add on distance.  I have been putting in 40 miles.  The other day I ran 10 miles in a little over an hour, I think you should be just fine.  Good luck and remember it is on October 5th don't freak out and remember trust in God.
