Question:

Preparing to apply for Peace Corps.?

I'm currently a junior in college; I have approximately a year and a half left. I was originally a pre-med major, but have recently switched to sociology to broaden my horizons. However, I have obtained my pre-requisite courses for med school. I have always been interested in the Peace Corps, so I guess my questions would be:

1. Is there anything I can do at the present to begin preparing myself for the interviewing process?

2. What area would I likely be working in?

  1. You can talk to a recruiter. There are offices in about 12 big cities in the USA. Ask your college placement office if one is coming to "table" at your college.

You'd probably get more invitations in the health area than sociology. Liberal Arts majors tend to end up teaching English as a second language in a school so far upriver that the local teachers don't want to go there. Talk to a recruiter about that, too.

  2. You' r in for the adventure of your life time.

    I WISH THE VERY BEST.
