  1. This web site is excellent and explains the whole process of how to become a physician:  http://www.howstuffworks.com/becoming-a-...

You certainly don't have to be a geek to be a doctor.  You do have to be good in science and math, though.  In high school, take as many courses in science and math as you can manage, preferably AP level as long as your GPA remains high.

In high school, you need to focus on getting into a university.  Once you get into a university you can start focusing on medical school.

Many people enter med school thinking they want to go into one specialty and end up changing their minds and going into another.  The last two years of medical school are Clinical Rotations, which exposes you to the various medical specialties.  It's not uncommon for people to change their minds several times.

It's rare that a person completes a residency and then decide to do another.  It's not uncommon for a person to begin a residency and then change to another--but you'd be competing against everybody else for that residency spot.

  2. I just started med school and I am going to be an anesthesiologis as well

I know it is really excting but stop posting repeated questions I know you really want to know the answer but people will get sick of you and will end up deleting it

Just wait untill some good people answer to it.. They surely will but it sometimes take some time

  3. Go for it, girl!

For now, just keep your grades up, and do normal kid stuff.  Don't be a total geek.  Physicians are regular people, and we have interests outside of medicine.

The most important grades will be your college grades.  Learn how to be a good student now, so those study habits can stick with you in college.

BTW, if you don't make it into anesthesiology, there's NO WAY you'll get a derm spot.  Those are VERY difficult.

After 4 yrs of med school, you can be any kind of physician that you want to be.

    Good luck!
