Preparing to replace enterance doors?

Sorry, do I need to primer the frames or can I just paint them with Walmart paint?

I always prime first, especially anything exposed to the elements. there are many benefits and no cons. good luck with your new doors! (are you sure the frame isn't already primed, many times that's the case)

If the frames are pine or fir, then priming them will be a good idea.  The wood will soak up the paint.  Or you could just resign yourself to applying multiple coats of exterior paint.
