Question:

Preparing to travel to Europe!?

In a few weeks i'm traveling to Europe. Everything is paid for, and i'm going with a group. I'm getting really excited, but a little nervous as well.

I hear a bunch of people talking about "hidden money belts" but i don't think that's the way i want to go. I was wondering how a small backpack would work. It is one that in order to open you pull on the top and the straps shorten. I was wondering if this would be equally as safe.

If anyone has any other tips they would like to share i would love to hear them

Thanks so much!

  1. I always carry a backpack, just make sure you hold onto the straps while you are walking. And always be aware of your surroundings.

  2. I went to Italy and Switzerland last summer. When we were in Rome our luggage got stolen from our car. Everything was gone, including our passports. We had NOTHING. So my advice is keep your valuables on you. I think your backpack would be fine. Put it on and have someone try to grab it or stick their hands inside ad see If you feel it. Also if you have credit cards just bring 1 type with you so if it is stolen you only have to cancel 1. You can bring others on the trip but just don't have them on you.

Becareful with leaving things in hotel rooms too-hide the stuff  good.  You shouldn't have a problem. I just got very unlucky because they knew we were Americans. have fun!!!

  3. Backpack is great as the most criminals in Europe try to reach into your pocket. Try to visit Greece if you want to have a good time drinking and meeting guys. If you are a history maniac visit

central Europe. Germany is also great for fun and history.

p.s:Greece is one of the cheapest countries in Europe for accommodation and food. I live in Cyprus so if you have time and some money for the ship fare pay a visit to my country too!

I would be pleased to answer any of your questions and tell you were to have the best time on our island so if you're interested, write me to my email.

    Have a wonderful trip.

  4. no personaly I wouldnt. People can cut them open, theyre material. You probably wouldnt notice if u were having fun.

  5. My friends and I travelled throughout Europe with backpacks and everything went fine, but it is true that there are pickpockets and that some places are more dangerous. Hidden money belts are really the best because my friend himself carried one.

I used only a backpack, but we went everywhere in a group so that helped i guess. Good luck and cheers!
