Prerequisites and classes?

I am going to be a freshman in college in a few weeks and trying to get my schedule straight. I want to take general chem which has prereq of cal. I was placed into cal so can I take gen chem along with cal or do I have to finish cal first then take chem?

If it is a PRE-req, then you must complete it FIRST.

If it is a CO-req, you must take them at the same time.
