Does anyone think that Plaster of Paris is a good outside activity for about 12, 3 year old's to make their hand prints?

  1. I wouldn't try it unless you have a lot of help.  That's a lot of kids.


  2. That would be so fun. I am studying to become a childcare worker at the moment. 12 is a pretty big group, but I guess it depend on how many adults you have there. I think 1 adult could only really watch 4..maybe 5 children at once. I think having 3 groups, with an adult at each table would be good. It would be a good outside activity too, because you could decorate the plaster of paris with gumnuts and leaves.....and easier to clean up lol. You'll have to watch for hands in the mouth lol and make sure no children are allergic (have to check with everything we use now). I want to do that with a group of children now. It would be fun messy play, but they'd still have something to take home. Just put aprons on them and go for it lol.

  4. Sounds like great fun.  I have used many craft ideas from DLTK's site for the children's programs I run at work, and here's a link to the website.  They have great easy to follow instructions.
