You could do something will toasting marshmallows, and showing how the marshmallow changes color when the sugar burns.  Or, something with an ant farm?

I actually stole (borrowed) this idea from a children's museum so now you can have it.  I set up a tent in the class room with props like cooking supplies, clothes line, fishing poles, real logs for the pretend fire pit, back packs etc.  This dramatic play area will definitely be a big hit.  You could introduce some water into this also.  Science = cause/affect (cooking, fishing,) hot/cold (fire, drying clothes, tent to stay warm)  etc. etc.

i agree with toasting marshmallows, you could also do a nature wallk...leaves, sticks, etc.
