Could you please suggest for me a website or book that I could use at home as a preschool curriculum? I am looking for specific activities and themes as I have officially run out of ideas and would like to use a pre-set curriculum.

Thanks for your help!

  1. You cannot home school for preschool.  A huge part of any preschool curriculum should be learning social skills such as interacting in a group setting, taking turns, sharing, following directions of adults and children, problem solving, dealing with adversity with words rather than aggression, learning to solve some problems on own rather than tattling and always relying on adults to intervene.   These are skills you cannot teach your child in a home school setting.

  2. I usually use google and type in 'activities for preschooler'  if I have a theme in mind I type that in as well.  Like 'Easter activities for preschoolers' and a whole bunch of sites come up with a wealth of information on activities for different themes, arts n crafts, songs, book ideas, science, etc....

    Hope that helped

  3. Here is a good part of a curriculum for 3-6:

  5. One of my favorite preschool websites is www.preschoolexpress.com. It has ideas and activities for how to teach numbers, letters, songs, and other units that you might use through out the year.

Frog Street curriculum is also a very good way to go. It teaches the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. through songs. More info can be found at www.frogstreet.com. We use this for our pre-kindergarten students and they love it. It gives them phonemic exposure to the letters. We also practice the correct way to form letters and flashcards with pictures that start with each letter.

I also second looking at Creative Curriculum but it is more of a strategy as opposed to specific ideas and activities. It is the general curriculum we use in my preschool classroom but most daily activities come from websites or books and fit into the Creative Curriculum guidelines.

  6. I recommend Creative Curriculum.  Their website address is www.teachingstrategies.com.  Also, Montessori has materials available at www.montessoritraining.net.  There are others out there, but these are two of the best.

  7. try highreach learning.  They have excellent programs!!
