I have a been teacher assistant for 24 years and I am writing a booklet. I am taking my experiences in the classroom and as a parent and writing helpful info that would benafit the child and parents to help make Pre-K and K a success. My question is do you think I could sell the booklets. Would people buy them. I will have at least 50 helpful hints or steps to follow to get off on the right foot in school. I just need to know what parents think of my idea. I don't have a four year degree so I wouldn't be called a professional but it is info form life experiences.

Any comments positive or negitive would be helpful.

Thanks!

  1. You could probably sell them, but getting a publisher to do it might be a challenge.  Could you self publish?  Do you know about marketing a book?  There are a lot of things to consider.

  2. yesyou should because people could really use them for their own kids and you could get money for it.

  3. #1 You spelled "benefit" wrong, which makes me question your helpful hints in the booklets.  You have a lot of spelling and grammar errors, which could turn people off.

#2 It depends on how well the book is written and how good the tips are.

#3 Have a truthful relative read it first and comment on the content and make suggestions.

  4. A booklet may do well if it less expensive than an actual book. Truth is, there are already several published books on this subject such as "What Your Kindergardener Should Know", et al.

  5. 24 years experience is great!  A helpful booklet to make preK and K a more successful experience for both the parents and students is a wonderful idea.  We all should attempt to do something to make a footprint.  Go for it!  Please have some of your fellow teacher assistants / colleagues/ teachers / administrators look at it as well.  Maybe you could start with your own district.  If it is helpful, then you have a better chance at a larger market.  Good luck.  Thank you for trying to make a difference.
