Preschool and insurance?

is health insurance typically required for a child to be able to attend a part-time/half-day church preschool? i want to go ahead and register my son but not sure if i need it just yet (yeah, im getting it asap, just wanna get paperwork outta the way and get him registered before spaces fill up)

  1. NOT in New York State it isn't but, hey every state is different.

No it is not required (although always a good idea).  Immunization info is all that's required.  Just for your information, if your child gets hurt at school his injury will be covered under the school's insurance policy.  The administrator should make that info available to you or whoever provides medical care for your child if necessary.

  3. your having health insurance should not be a prerequisite.

    Although you will probably have to show that your child is up to date on shots.

    If not, contact your local health unit.
