  1. for p.e have them make shapes with their body...it is learning...i think?

  2. P.E. Physical Development:  Students imitate animals through movement.

Art/Sensory:  Draw or paint a pic of a favorite animal

Science:  Discuss the different kinds of places that animals live... find a book to read aloud to support one of the habitats.  Then you could tie Art into the lesson by having them draw a pic of an animal in that habitat... the ocean would be a good one that the studens would relate to well.

Personal/Social and Creative Skills:  Use the habitat idea and split the students into groups.  Give each group a habitat:  forest, ocean, jungle, desert, etc.  Then they could cut out pictures from magazines or draw pictures of animals that live in that habitat onto a large posterboard.

Circle Time, etc.:  Show different pictures of animals and have them tell the name and sound that they make... Match an adult animal with the baby animal......

  3. Well you could make animal masks and give one to each child tell them to give you the sound and move like that animal. when you are finished with that  Make them draw there favorite animal.

Tell them to pick a partner and go on an adventure. Hide animals around the room tell them do you see what I see a monkey in a tree it just can't be or something of that nature each time they find an animal give them a real picture of that animal to put in a mini scrapbook.

These websites will help.  I just took a college class called curriculum activities.  I had to hand write out five activities for 10 domians which almost exactly match your units..These websites are full of songs, games, activities, and lesson plan ideas.   Here's a science that we did in class. Lesson: How do animals stay wram in the winter.

Need: two gallon size zip lock bags, lard (or Crisco vegetable shortening) large container of icy water.  Fill one bag with lard, place the other zip lock bag inside it the one with lard.  DO NOT PUT LARD IN THE SECOND ONE!   Have children place one hand in the ice cold water for as long as they can keep it.  then take it out and  place the hand with the bag on it in the water. Can you feel the difference?  what did it feel like the first time? the second?  the bag with the lard represents animal fat.  how do you think animals stay warm in the winter?

  6. You could do something with animals. For PE you could do a game with the "meat eaters" that have to tag the "plant eaters" For art they could draw or create their favorite animal. For science, talk about the food chain or any thing like that, and circle time they could talk about their favorite animals, or things like that.
