Preschool??

When did/do you start your kids to either a pre-kindergarten or preschool? not sure if they are the same thing?

We had a 3 and 4 year old preschool program.  I didn't really think my daughter would get anything out of three year, so I put her in 4 year old preschool.  She loved it, and yes they are the same.

Technically preschool and pre-kindergarten are not the same thing.  Children go to pre kindergarten at the age of 4 the year before they begin kindergarten.  Preschool is for 3 year olds.  However, many schools do not differentiate.  

The age that you start your child depends on you and your child and what you are hoping to get out of the experience.  If you are thinking solely in terms of social skill you can begin your child at the age of 4.  If you want them to get a solid educational foundation then you should have them begin at the age of 3, in a high quality program, of course.

You enter them when they are 4. If you'd like, some people put their kids in at 3. But it's the year before preschool. When they're 5 is when they go into kindergarten.

3-4 years of age.  Most preschools want the children to be potty trained.

Pre school and kindergarten is same. Thats just for making your child fitted for school.

Preschool and Pre-k are two very different things. Pre-K is usually at an Elementary school, and the child will start at 4 years old.

Preschool is a whole different institution, and I've seen some start as young as 6 months. It all depends on the center, and their methods. Usually preschools start at 2 or 3, because they want the child to be potty-trained.
