  1. Visit the board's website; it will be posted.  Salary is based upon whether you have a BA or MA and your years of experience.

And just as a note, if "What is the salary?" is your first thought, this is NOT the job for you.  All teachers in the same system get the same pay -- some get paid more if they take on "coaching" responsibilities, but it's pitiful little, compared to the time that's required.

Teaching is a career -- not an 8-3 job, with holidays and the summer, playing with little kids and reading stories to them.  You might want to arrange some shadowing before you decide; although your first education course will require some observations and interviews, anyway.

But, whether you're teaching 12th grade Senior Honors English or Kindergarten, you're getting the same pay, based upon degree work and years of experience.

  2. To be a certified public school teacher, regardless of the grade level, requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

As for pay - that depends on where you teach and can usually be found on the school district's website.

  3. Momica said it best. It depends on your area and you can always check the salary scale. ALSO, I live in Maryland and the kindergarden teachers at my school make about $42,000. Preschool teachers make significantly less because many of them do not have college degrees.
