  1. Well my children go to a daycare center and what they do is teach my children things like numbers,ABC's everything. And on top of it, it lasts all day so I wouldn't have to find a sitter once preschool is out. Anyway where I stay your child has to be screened in order to get approved into preschool. so if your child is really advanced they will not accept your child. All the preschools out here are half days and you're paying way more than daycare. So the daycare center my children teaches them alot including getting along with other kids, anything a preschool do is just the same of what they do.

  2. A really good daycare  center will have a preschool program in place for the children. I am a director at a child care center and we do preschool program everyday with our children it is just naturally worked into our day. Someone said that at a daycare you will see teachers in the corner talking. If you see this you should find a new daycare.

  3. There may be no difference, or it may be a that the Preschool program is an early childhood education program.  What activities are provided for the children?  A good preschool program will have a regular schedule for the children that includes both structured and unstructured activities, small and large group activities, outside play time, and plenty of free choice time for the children with lots of interesting, constructive activities for the children to engage in.  A day care program may offer the same type of routine but just have a different name, or it may be all free play time with meals and rest times included.

  4. There really isn't one. The all day preschool has to have a day care license, they just are being s****.. Look at the programs and see if one meets your needs, then enroll your child there. I used to tell parents that day care was preschool with meals and a nap.

  5. For me, as a preschool teacher preschool usually means a shorter day--almost like Nursery School(2 and a half hours/day) and day care usually means all day

  6. Preschool is better in my opinion, because your child learns things while having fun, and meeting other kids that might be in their future classes. Daycare all you do is play while the adults are talking in the corner.... if there is a Minnie land in your Town do not go!!!

  7. There is a difference.  The name preschool or daycare center doesn't really matter, it depends on if they have a curriculum, if its montessori or playbased.  You should ask first.

  8. This is my opinion of the matter.... Preschool is an actual school for 3 and 4 year olds. Day care centers are basically a home away from home when parents have to work.
