What is the difference between preschool and Nursery School?

  1. We' re moving to the UK soon from the US and I've noticed in looking for schools over there that they call "nusery school" what I'm used to calling "pre-school" , so maybe it's just different in different countries, but I think they both refer to school for 3-4 year olds.


  2. preschool is more of a preperation towards "school" they teach them depending on there age. its basicly school but just for there level

    and a nursery is a place where they would take care of babies more than a 4 year old so what im saying here is a nursery is somewhere i would put a 6-24 month old and a preschool i would put from any age of 2-5

  3. It's the same thing - a school.  It's called a nursery school outside of the U.S.

  4. They are usually the same thing-programs for 3 and 4 year old children(and sometimes 2's). As a practical matter, most Nursery Schools are part-time while Preschool could be anything from a couple of days a week to full time.
