I just recently got Rx glasses. What does it mean when you have

OD sphere +0.25, cylinder -0.75, axis 140..

OS sphere +0.50, cylinder -0.50, axis 049..

All he told me was I had a astigmatism, that's about it. I still see blurry far objects, but real clear up close. When I take them off my eyes start to hurt and take awhile to gain focus. Please help me. Serious answers thank you.

  1. Basically you have a slight astigmatism, there is a shape to your cornea that leaves it a football shape, instead of a rounded shape that causes distortion which for you is at a distance. Your eyes hurt because they are straining to focus without correction.

  2. If you can see better without your glasses tell the doctor about it.  Something is wrong.
