  1. When I had them about 20 yrs ago I LOVED them.  They were like $300 back then but I am sure they are MUCH cheaper now....I think I have seen commercials for like $100 for Rx sunglasses.

  2. I have used them for 15 years now and would not go back to regular one's. If your eyes change alot then don't waste the money but if they have been stable several years then it is worth the cost. Price depends on your eyes  but the average cost is about the same as regular glasses.

  3. OK, somebody mentioned transitions...they have a fairly new lens out called Drivewear...the first Transitions lenses that change in the car.  They are a little expensive, but are well worth the cost.  They are polarized, which means they will cut glare, and they DO change behind the windshield.

Otherwise, invest in a good pair of polarized (non Transitions) lenses.  Takes glare off of water, snow, ice and sand.

  4. They are definitely worth buying... You can get any type of frame you like and it looks much better than clip-on's!!! lol

  5. Way better than clip-ons is to go the Tint or Transitions. Beware that Transitions won't work in most cars because the windshield blocks the UV which trigger the change in color.

I buy my contacts online and this company now offers glasses with tints (www.coastalcontacts.com/glasses . Way cheaper than the dr's office so they may be worth a shot for a decent pair of prescription sunglasses.

  6. Rx glasses are nice to have but they are normally as expenisve, if not more than your regular glasses. I spent money on some and always left them behind. Sometimes clip-ons are the way to go. It all just depends on your lifestyle. With summer coming up a lot of stores are having specials. It never hurts to try them, but shop around first! Good luck!

  7. I recently purchased Transitions and I love them. They are your regular perscription, but when you are exposed to high uv rays, they tint into sunglasses. They tint anywhere from barely noticeble to black! That way you can use them for reading, driving etc....they are a bit expensive. I paid like $250 total for frames, lenses, anti-glare etc...hope that helps you.

  8. I find that prescription sunnies are great, and if you lose them, buy them online at discounted cheap prescription glasses websites like mine where a standard single vision pair of glasses with a sunglass tint will cost around $79 (postage extra).  I always lose my clip ons...and I love the look of cool shades!

  9. I think they are worth buying, as long as you are not the type of person who loses a new pair every week.  If you have insurance then they will be covered other wise you could be spending  $100 or more
