Prescription "softgel" medicine for a sore throat?

I had these a few years ago and can't remember the name. They were little clear softgels. Once you swallowed them, your throat would go numb...GREAT for sore throats. If you chewed them, supposedly your mouth would go numb. Thanks!

  1. They are called Tessalon Perels. They are meant for coughs, but do have a numbing effect. You are not suppose to chew they or puncture them though. This does cause numbing of the mouth and throat and can be deadly.
