What do u think of it? I like Pitt at #25, because they recruited some of the best players in the WPIAL. And I think Texas Tech should have been ranked maybe 1 or 2 higher. And I'm surprised to see Fresno State unranked when most people (including me) picked them to go to a BCS game. And why is Clemson ranked #9?

  1. There a couple of teams in the top ten that I wouldn't have there, namely Clemson and Auburn. Texas Tech has a great offense, a porous defense and I think their ranking is just about right.

I don't really put too much stock in the ratings until around the sixth  week of the season, after all the powerhouse schools have been through their soft non-conference schedule.

  2. Well who knows if they are right I agree with every team in the top ten I might have switched it around a bit but as I look at the rankings one thing pops out at me this year the Big 12 is the best conference in the nation look at all the Big 12 teams in the top 15

it might only last a single year but I don't care what you people say the Big 12 is the best of the best this year followed by the SEC

  3. Hey, what do you know? Another generic "Ohio State sucks, they dont play anybody, they choke in the championship game, SEC is so much stronger" answer.

Save it, because we've all heard it a billion times.

The rankings are fine, and I really dont sweat preseason, because they dont matter at all.

This is whats going to happen:

Texas Tech is basically Hawaii with Michael Crabtree, Missouri will win the Big 12, Sam Bradford will prove to be a one year wonder, Florida will finish 9-3 because they have no defense,   Wisconsin will go to the Rose Bowl and play USC, Auburn will hammer West Virginia, Clemson wont win the ACC, even though the title is basically being placed in the palm of thier hand. Kansas will prove its just a one year wonder, Tennessee wont move all season, and Pitt wont be that good.

  4. I agree with Sara about Ohio State being so highly ranked.  They have a lot of starters returning this year.  Whoa, I'm scared.  Same old c**p as last year.  LSU would still kill Ohio State if they played again this year.  LSU has a schedule this year somewhat like a typical Ohio State schedule (soft).  The only difference is LSU doesn't automatically get the high ranking but when Ohio State falls to USC, it won't really matter.

  5. I'm not a big fan of the preseason rankings.  They look the same to me every year.  I don't like Ohio State at number.  What have they proved in the last few seasons?  That they can choke on the big stage?  That's about it.  The schedule they run is nothing compared to the SEC teams and some of the Pac-10 teams (like USC).  I'm just sick of the Ohio State hype.

Fresno State will need to prove something in the first few weeks to gain some ground on the other teams.  I say the WAC lost a bit of credibility last year with the Hawaii bowl disaster and they'll just have to prove themselves again this year.  I think we'll definitely see them in a bowl game, but it won't be a big one.

EDIT: Cleveland, the only reason you hear the same speech about OSU is because...it's the truth.  The only challenge they have on their schedule is USC.  If they win that game by some miracle of God, I'll eat my words and accept the fact that OSU is a legit team.  But if they don't, which I'm betting on, will OSU fans change their tune?

  6. pitt is gonna be a great team this year mcoy could win the heismen and i think pit will be in the top 10 very easy coference the big east.
