Present for 18 yr old friend! - Help?

I need help on a present for my friend whos turning 18.. We don't have the same taste in clothes.. And I'm the only friend invited to her birthday, so I want to get her something really nice.. any ideas?!?! Thankssss:)

Giftcards are out of the question --way too impersonal. I've always had a thing for sentimental gifts. You should try giving her a 18th bday collage! Include photos of the fun times you've shared, a nice little message from you to her, and all sorts of colors and decorations. Also, just for fun.. fill up a little gift bag (for her eyes only) including all the fun things that 18yr olds can purchase: lottery/scratcher card, playboy/girl magazine, pack of cigarettes! Haha :] Also! I remember for my birthday, one of my friends made some pottery for me, a nice pencil holder/vase that she painted and designed herself. So nice.
