Present for a 7 year old girl?

My niece is turning 7 and I'm not sure what to get her. She's kind of a girly-girl, and I was thinking about art supplies but I feel like everyone does that.. plus her dad's a professional artist, so he may have that covered.

What do you think?

  1. i suggest "tricking" her into saying what she wants for her birthday like asking her questions like "if you can bring one thing to an island, what would it be?"

  2. nothing camp rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... camp rock are some wannabe little kids cause their daddys payed there way there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. art supplies would be nice! craft stores have little art kits and projects that little artists are bound to love.

what are her other interests? does she like animals? if so a stuffed animal would be nice.

sports? a ball or something like that.

dolls? take a walk through the barbie aisle!

you can't go wrong with a gift card to toysrus or target or something like that. kids love getting presents, so I'm sure that she will love whatever you get her!

  4. My 7 year old loves Hair supplies. Get her a box and fill it with a new hair brush and comb, some cool shampoo(Bath and Body Works carries the "American Girl" line of body products including shampoos) some barrettes, hair bands, etc. Claires in your local mall will have it all, you can kind of go nuts in there with all the cute stuff they have, so be careful or you might go way overboard on your budget!

  5. You mean you can't call or email her mother and find out what it is she is interested in and what she might appreciate?

  6. She may have a ton, but what about Webkinz? Also, you might consider a bead jewelry making kit.

  7. Ask her mom.

But if she has long hair, how about hair accessories.

A Barbie Doll. There are some very inexpensive ones. Or accessories for dolls she may already have, clothes, and what-not.

An outfit to play "dress-up" in. Even something from your closet, it doesn't have to come from the Toy Department, as those don't last long anyway. I know I'm a mom of an 11 yr old girl and a 15 yr old step-daughter, they don't play dress up anymore, but they used to.

Or maybe you could get her a gift-card and take her shopping for an out-fit or a toy. Just arrange it with her parents if it's ok with them.

A little shopping trip would be very girly.

  8. Do a little "beauty bag". Bath and Body Works carries products from American Girl (a company that sells dolls, among other things) that are great. To include in said beauty bag:

    Lip balm or chap stick

    Some lotion

    A hairbrush

Body mist (depending on the maturity. When I was that age, if you gave me that stuff, you'd be smelling it for a week :D)

    Bubble bath

    Some hair accessories.

Have fun, and happy birthday to your niece!

  9. Buy her a paddle and USE it on her.

  10. Ask her.

  11. It depends on how much you want to spend.

A few "can't go wrongs" are ANYTHING Hannah Montana, American Girl, Webkinz.

You can also find out if there is a Libby Lu's http://www.clublibbylu.com/ near you and get her a gift certificate to it.

If all else fails a gift certificate to a cool clothing store like gap or Justice for Girls http://www.shopjustice.com/ or toys r us.

  12. Anything having to do with Hannah Montana, High School Musical or Camp rock.

  13. Go to toys R us and pick out a few things for her.

Things you think she'll love :)
