Preserveing a hornet nest, tree branch with leaves and the hornet?

i have a hornet nest, dead hornets and the nest is on the tree branch, how do i preserve it, ive heard use spray paint for the hornets but I'm not sure, any help is appreciated

If you can put the nest someplace where it won't be disturbed or handled, I would try leaving it alone.  You might have to put the hornets on with a tiny dab of glue.  The leaves may or may not stay - maybe you could put a bit of glue on them if they come loose?

If that won't work, I would try some sort of spray-on plastic or shellac or lacquer.  A lot of women's hairspray used to be spray-on lacquer.  Try spraying some on some thin paper like onion skin and see if it damages it, or if it protects it or preserves it the way you want to.  You will only get one shot at this, so I would practice with different materials and on different materials before I went ahead and tried it on the nest.
