Preserveing a hornet nest, tree branch with leaves and the hornets

got a hornet nest, dead hornets and the nest is on the tree branch, how do i preserve it, ive heard use spray paint for the hornets but I'm not sure, any help is appreciated

  2. theres a special spray at home depot or lowes that you can buy and it shoots out like a 20 ft jet of foam and nerve toxins that kills them instantly.

Honestly, I would preserve them in photos only.  True experience... when I was little we use to go to Bible study in the basement area of the pastor's house.  His son had collected a 'dead' hornet's nest months before and had it propped in the corner of the basement after he had taken it to school for a science exhibit.  Many times I had walked by and could hear it buzzing low inside, but when I said something they said the nest had been examined and the hornets were most certainly dead.  Well I guess a few of the larvae were able to survive on their own because right after the Bible study group was over one night (it was late winter no less)  out come at least a dozen hornets and they were not happy.
