Alain Orsoni has received death threats and due to fear for his life, might be forced to leave Corsica after already being in exile for almost 13 years
President of Ligue 1 outfit AC Ajaccio, Alain Orsoni has said that he will be forced to resign from his post at the club as he fears for his life in Corsica. The Ajaccio supremo has made this decision after two people linked with the club were murdered last
month. The murders included the one of club lawyer Antoine Sollacaro who was shot dead at a petrol station a month back.
Two days back, Ajaccio’s general secretary, Jacques Nacer was also murdered when he was leaving his clothes shot.
Both aforementioned men were close to the Ajaccio president who was the leader of a nationalist movement in Corsica and the supremo is currently under investigation over a killing in 2009. Shortly after he became the president of the Corsican club in 2008,
Orsoni survived an attempted murder and while talking to Le Parisien, the troubled man said that he has become a priority target for many people in the region.
If he is still alive, Orsoni plans to leave the island of Corsica and move to another country. In an interview with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 on Thursday, Orsoni said that he is scared because he has a family, children and a mother who cannot take so much at the age
of 78.
“Of course I’m scared. I have a family, children, a 78-year-old mother who trembles every day when she reads the papers. More than scared, I’m desperate. I don’t know how I can get out of this situation. I think I will quit Ajaccio.”
With a lot of cases against him, it will be tough for Orsoni to leave the country instantly. And, the president says that he will leave France only when a verdict has been given.
