Paris Saint-Germain managed to beat Olympique de Marseille 2-1 at the Parc des Princes in this season’s second Clasico. However, the press is not impressed with Ancelotti’s men’s performances
Parc des Princes was as full as an egg this Easter as Paris Saint-Germain managed to beat archrivals Olympique de Marseille 2-1 in a crucial Ligue 1 encounter. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345 and Alex scored two goals for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The win means that both Montpellier and PSG are level on points at the top of the table with Montpellier leading the standings on goal difference and with a game in hand. In this season’s earlier Clasico, PSG lost 3-0 to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 at the Stade
Velodrome.
However, Didier Deschamps’ side’s recent run of poor result always meant that the tie would be a hard one for the Rhone giants.
French press was glad to see PSG return to winning ways after a few setbacks in the last couple of weeks. However, most of the journalists were very disappointed at the overall performances of the two sworn enemies.
L’Equipe dared to call the poster game “Pathetico” regretting “true poverty in technique” that predominated the whole 90 minutes.
Le Parisien came up with its own flashy headline that read “A Clasico that never flew high”. Reporters from Le Provence were also not happy with how Marseille went about their game.  “Tunes from the movie Titanic” was how their reporters put the game. A
subhead line read, “The ordeal continues. He goes round in circles and the team lacks energy,” to sum up what Didier Deschamps’ men have been doing in the past few weeks.
The game against Marseille was Carlo Ancelotti’s first Clasico and the former AC Milan manager would be happy to see the outcome of the game.
Reporters across the other side of the Alps have also followed the coach as well. La Gazzetta dello Sport was glad to see Ancelotti win his first Ligue 1 Clasico.
“Carlo Ancelotti provides stimulus to PSG for his first Clasico.”
In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, Globo pointed out two Brazilians who indeed made the difference in the game.
“Nene and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 who gave the victory to PSG,” read the Brazilian sports daily.
