Are these signs of pre-term labor? I walked last pm and had a lot of pressure & cramping after we were done walking. Also two nights ago after having s*x I had some cramping also. The cramping doesn't stay and is not on a regular basis. The pressure is more often then the cramping. I go to the Dr tomorrow, should I have her check me to see if my cervix is doing anything? I am 32 weeks.

  1. Its BH contractions, you can tell because they aren't regular but the pressure is probably just your baby dropping or getting into position. Tell your doctor, it doesn't hurt.

  2. They could just be braxton hicks contractions, since they aren't regular. Braxton hicks contractions are sporadic uterine contractions that happen more often in mid- to late- pregnancy.  They are usually infrequent, irregular, and painless.  HOWEVER--Play it safe. You're only 32 weeks.  If you have more than 4 of these types of contractions (Cramping/Pressure) in an hour, you  might want to get looked at by your doctor becuase it is hard for you to know the difference between true labor and braxton hicks contractions.

  3. Whenever I walked alot with my first pregnancy I would get alot of pressure and cramping in my pelvic, groin area....it is normal to get cramping and pressure after having an o****m, you should bring it up to your doctor though, they will let you know.

  4. Definitely ask your doctor to check your cervix, explain to her about the cramping/pressure. Your baby has probably shifted into the birthing position, getting ready for it's birthday :). If you're deeply concerned about it, I would call a nurse and get her advice on whether or not to wait til your regular appointment or to come in. Good luck!

  5. Welcome to the last and most painful part of the pregnancy...not including labor itself. I am 36 weeks and with my 3rd (each pregnancy adds more pain and pressure)

This is quite normal - but with everything talk to Your Doctor!! I've had a lot of pressure since 30 weeks. When I'm out walking i get the "knife" pain i call it....where it feels like there is a knife or stick going right up you.....it's the pressure and prep of the cervix opening up. There may be days you have lots of pressure and some none. Just focus on the "I'll almost have my lil one in my arms" feeling! Good Luck!

  6. what you may be experiencing it Braxton Hicks, (practice contractions) those are perfectly normal as long as they are not consistant, or extremely painful. Definately tell your Doctor though, he/she can decide where to go from there.
