Pressure of expectations not letting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 notch his hundredth ton, feels Ottis Gibson – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556, score his ton of tons.
The prolific Indian batsman once again failed to notch his record hundredth ton after the rookie leg-spinner, Devendra Bishoo, sacked him for 38 in the first innings of the second Test of three-match series, underway at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The legendary
batsman pulled a short ball off Bishoo, which was comfortably taken by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marlon-Nathaniel-Samuels-c74804 at the short mid-wicket.
Gibson said that his boys are doing nothing special to stop the little maestro from reaching the milestone, rather it is the burden of expectations that is not allowing Tendulkar to pile up his hundredth International century. He however, did opine that
Windies would not let the Master Blaster script the record against them in the ongoing series.
"We did not have any special plan but just to bowl line and length. Looking at Sachin, it makes me feel that the expectancy on Indian people is creating much pressure on him,” said Gibson while talking to the media reporters on the opening day of the Kolkata
Test.
"Everytime he walks out people start cheering. For him to cope with the pressure is remarkable. The pressure on him is enormous. We just bowl in right areas and be patient. Something always seems to happen," the Windies coach added further.
Tendulkar was removed by Bishoo in the second innings of the first Test at Feroz Shah Kotla as well. Gibson said that there was nothing special in all the three balls that have sacked the veteran in the series so far; rather, he is under immense pressure
and throws away his wicket due to it.
The visiting coach agreed Tendulkar has been dealing with this pressure over the past two decades, and hoped he would overcome the hurdle soon.
“We are just hoping that it's not against us," said Gibson. "Hope when he goes to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 there would be many more people in the stands. It would mean a lot more for him," Gibson smiled.
