The event, which is expected to bring over 100,000 visitors to South Florida, will definitely skyrocket revenues for the hospitality industry in the region.
However, on the lighter side, the event will also be raising funds for charity.
Major chunk of revenue will be donated to charitable foundations working for the health and nutrition of children.
In this context, it is important to mention the contribution of Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation.
Headed by Barbara Nicklaus, wife of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, the organisation intends to receive contributions to ensure effective economic sustenance of children.
"When you have the support of a tournament like the Honda, it's just a huge help," said Barbara Nicklaus.
The initiative taken by these organisations has been supported by the organising committee and management of the event.
According to Paul Bremer, President of the Honda Classic, "Well it's been tough times since 2008 for the charities. A lot of them are no longer here unfortunately. They try and stretch their dollar as far as they can to have as much impact".
He further added that, with the passage of time, the percentage of contribution donated in the form of charity by the event has surged up to an unprecedented level of $1million.
In addition to this, the organisers of the event anticipate to raise greater revenues in the upcoming years to expand their scope of economic assistance on a greater level.
Apart from Nicklaus Foundation, the Gary Carter Foundation has also been pivotal in launching awareness programs regarding the diagnosis of diabetes in juveniles.
Along with this, the role of the organisation has also been crucial in the execution of reading programs for children.
With the help of these activities, proper educational roles for children can be organised and streamlined.
It is also important to mention here that the foundation has so far been successful in collecting $620,000 for the fulfilment of these purposes.
The foundation has been named after prominent baseball player and catcher Gary Carter.
