Presvis returns for the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free and the Group 2 Al Rashidiya at the Meydan
The eight-year-old bay gelding of Sakhee out of Forest Fire, Presvis, is trained by Luca Cumani, and has been headed for the Group 2 Al Rashidiya at the Meydan, to be held on Thursday, 26th January 2012. The USD $200,000 Group
2 Al Rashidiya will be raced over a distance of 1,800 metres.
Presvis has raced just five times during the previous season, and could only credit two wins against his name, both at the Meydan.
The Group 2 Al Rashidiya on 27th January, 2011, at the Meydan was won by, Presvis, while riding with Ryan Moore, only to set the De Kock entered 13 to 8 favourite for the race, Irish Flame, fourth.

This was also Presvis’s season debut.
After coming third in the Group 2 Jebal Hatta, sponsored by Emirates Airline, on 3rd March, 2011, where he was sent as the 5 to 4 favourite, Presvis, as the 5 to 1 favourite, won the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free, sponsored by Dubai
Duty Free, on 26th Match, 2011.
The race was flooded with Godolphin Racing’s entries along with horses from De Kock and Al Raihe, even then Presvis dominated the race.
His last two starts of the 2011 season were failures, as he could not be placed in either of the races.
Through the career that spans out from 23rd May 2008, Presvis had ran at the Meydan six times and won thrice.

The Group 2 Al Rashidiya would be the seventh time Presvis will race at the Meydan, and yet again is a season’s debut just the way it was last year.
Charlie Henson, assistant to Cumani, said:
"He worked well on Saturday and seems in the same kind of form he was last year when winning this race. He has been off since Singapore and will certainly come on for the run”.
"The entries look strong and Musir was very impressive last time but we are happy with Presvis and we will find out just how fit he is on Thursday”.
The Group 2 Al Rashidiya isn’t the only target for Presvis at the Dubai World Cup Carnival, rather the 2011 Group 1 Dubai Duty Free winner will yet again contest in the same race this year.
His chances of performing and reaching a desirable outcome on 31st March would also depend upon his delivery on 26th January, in the Group 2 Al Rashidiya.
