Prevent Pilonidal Cyst ?

I got one cyst drained and another one I can see is forming, but not infected because theres no pain, how can I prevent it from forming into a full cyst!?

  1. You can't. You have to get it drained or removed. But you won't be "cured".

Unfortunately, you can't.  A true pilonidal cyst was actually formed when you were yet unborn.  As the spine was fusing and being covered by your skin, a bit of it was enveloped inside where it doesn't exactly belong.  To get rid of one required a surgical procedure to actually excise the cyst entirely, not to simply drain it.  I would suggest going back to see the doctor to see if this is truely what is going on there, and get an idea of the options you have to choose from.  If this looks like it's a repeat of the last, you might want to consider having the procedure done before it gets critical.  It's a lot easier done, and healed from if it's not massively inflammed and infected at the time.  The incision is a lot smaller too, which is a serious consideration, when you think about where the cutting is going to be done.
